Now Foods Omega 3-6-9 is a dietary supplement that provides a balanced blend of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids and their derivatives. These fatty acids are necessary for many bodily functions and play beneficial roles in human health. This product contains Omega 3 oils from flaxseed and canola, one type of Omega 6 oil (GLA) from Primrose and Black Currant, and Oleic Acid, an Omega 9 oil from canola and flax.
Omega 9 fatty acids are monounsaturated oleic and steric acids that can be produced by the body when Omega 3 and 6 are present. However, they can also be consumed through supplements. Omega 9 fatty acids can help lower cholesterol, keep the arteries from hardening, increase immune function, and are found in avocados, pecans, cashews, olives, and olive oils.
This supplement can be used along with a healthy diet and exercise to help lower levels of triglycerides and raise levels of "good" cholesterol (HDL). Each serving size of two softgels contains Omega-3 oils, which include Alpha linolenic acid (ALA) at 900mg, Omega-6 oils, which include Linoleic acid and Gamma linolenic acid (GLA) at 530mg, Omega-9 oils, which include Oleic acid at 350mg, and other oils such as short-chain fatty acids, saturated fats, phospholipids, etc., at 220mg.
To use this supplement, it is recommended to take 2 softgels 1 to 3 times daily with meals. Each container provides 125 servings, and the serving size is 2 softgels.
Now Foods Omega 3-6-9 softgels are made with gelatin, glycerin, water, and carob. They do not contain any additional ingredients or warnings.
